报告题目：Actuarial Science and Research Topics using Statistical Computing Tools

报告摘要：Actuarial Science as an important interdisciplinary that combines the knowledge and skills of mathematics, statistics & data Science, economics & finance, insurance & risk management, as well as computer science will be introduced. A recent Ph.D. dissertation work on the application of natural language processing (NLP) techniques, especially on a so-called BERT based method for actuarial predictive modeling will be presented.

报告人简介：洪东，美国中田纳西州立大学教授，美国中田纳西州立大学精算科学专业负责人。长期从事函数逼近论与计算科学，小波分析与医学数据处理，生物信息学等方面的研究工作。曾解决了著名的Carl de Boor猜想问题，得到国际学术界的赞誉。
